About this site

NEW JERSEY IS BEAUTIFUL is an amateur photography website designed to help the Garden State's residents share their love for the beauty of our sometimes-maligned state. In a way, it's fine that it's maligned, because it keeps critics from moving here and taking our spot in the back yard. However, there are so many beautiful colonial towns and landmarks that no one gets to see because they only see the Cogeneration Plant when they drive out of:

And on the Sopranos they see this:

Which is all well and good. But we wanted to celebrate the hidden gems (and occasionally goofy gems) of our colonial, wonderful state. This is not a professional photography site (as you can see). It's a site for amateur photogs and fans. Right now, it's in its infancy, but soon may have more pages, historical notes, photo essays, contests, and other useful features.
